I am happy to report that after some hoop jumping and help from Connie, I received my money today just a few minutes ago. Thanks Connie!

My pleasure, Ginette. So glad it worked for you.
When they opened their site last fall they contacted me for advertising. It looked like a good fit for artists, as they have print magazines and wanted to bring that information online to pair artists with their readership. They also had a good presence on the East Coast and I thought this would be good exposure. I was quite surprised when this came up today, but it seems as soon as I contacted them about this thread, Ginette found satisfaction.
Thanks Ginette, I was thinking about signing up for this. Now I know not to do business with them. It's sad us artists have to be so careful about who we try to sell work with because there are so many businesses taking advantage of artists. This company sounds like their focused on their magazine and just trying to get some extra cash by putting up a art website on the side.
Yep... I was excited when they recruited me but this has been an eye opener! I'll post if and when I hear from them. I give them another three days to forward the money to me before I take the next step.
My customer from Chicago is a very faithful collector, she is very interested in the artists she buys from. When someone hangs a painting in their wall and emails the artist how much they love the piece, they assume the artist is in possession of the money they paid for it not some third party entity that hold on to it for no cause.
She send Artsyhome this email yesterday!
Jim,
I received my painting from my favorite artist, Ginette Callaway, over a month ago. I'm beyond happy with the painting and very grateful for the low price she gave me. I have absolutely no intention of returning her painting, as it is absolutely stunning. Please email me after you have paid Ginette. There are 4 other pieces of artwork I'm interested in, just waiting to be sure this artist is paid.
Thank you!

I signed up with them last year and my experience has been dismal. I will give you some facts, and you chose to decide what you think.
I have posted this in my blog:
A Message to Artsyhome:
I have been trying to get an answer to when I will receive the $ $350.00 owed to me for a sale through your web site. It has been 32 days since the day the painting was sold. I am resorting to posting this publicly because you are not responding to my email.
Facts: One of my regular customers from Chicago contacted me about a painting of mine listed in my ArtsyHome gallery. We negotiated a lower price. I changed the price and reserved the painting for her. She bought it immediately that was September 6th, 2012. This was my first sale on Artsyhome since I signed up last year. She bought from me before through ETSY.
I shipped the painting on September the 10th and she received it two days later. She immediately emailed me that she loves it, since she has emailed me many time to express her gratitude to working with her on the price and to tell me how beautiful the paintings is. I am happy she’s happy.
As to they way Artsyhome is handling this transaction I am NOT happy. I am STILL WAITING on getting my money which Artsyhome is holding on this sale. $350.00 dollars to be exact.
I bought the monthly deal where Artsyhome gets paid a monthly fee for me to use their site to list. Each month I have faithfully paid the fee, and now that I am owed $350.00 for this sale they do not respond to my email nor have they forwarded this money to me. The contract states that a buyer i.e. my client has a right to return the painting for 30 days. OK that’s fine but it is over 30 days and she has even emailed them that she has no intention of returning the painting since she loves it very much. In any case it has been 32 days. I waited for a month. They are either ignoring my email or simply not paying attention. it’s a poor way to run a business.
Artsyhome is very disorganized, for example: I knew my client was going to purchase this painting because she had contacted me before hand. She also immediately contacted me after she checked it out and paid for it. My customers are used to me shipping quickly. If someone buys something on Friday I will ship Monday. I ship within two days.
However I would not have known that I had a sale, because I never got an automated notice from Artsyhome, letting me know that someone just checked out a painting. I contacted Artsyhome and asked them if I could get a sales notice and it was a email back and forth situation, before I got an attachment that showed I had a sale and all the particulars like shipping address for example the next day. Artsyhome does not have this automated so there is a person doing this and he seems frustrated and overworked, as he indicated in one of his emailed, overworked with a magazine job
Here is the email: Sender Bob Dohoney/ArtsyHome Sep 6 2012 to Ginette
Here’s a peach for ya. It would be great if we could get some automated system in place instead of me being the one to process orders and contact all parties involved. For times like these when we are doing the magazine, I can’t keep up.
—————————-
In any case I made it clear that I needed a receipt for this sale and eventually got it. I shipped on the 10th of September and emailed my client tracking etc. and we communicated frequently. Yesterday October the 8th she receives an email from Artsyhome telling her her painting has “recently” shipping. I actually shipped a month ago and she has it already for all that time. She forwarded the email to me.
All this is very unprofessional to say the very least. Legally Artsyhome has no right to continue to hold my money and not respond to my email. I hope they will simply do the right thing and forward the money to my paypal account per the contract and their agreement posted on their site.
I hate to have to resort to posting this on my blog and facebook but I do not get a rouse out of ArtsyHome using my regular email.
In the almost 20 years of doing business online this conduct by a vendor is unprecedented and very disturbing.
moreover: Since ArtsyHome does not automatically show art that sold as SOLD I was asked to remove the listing. I did not remove it because that would erase all evidence that I actually soldsomething on their site. I made screen prints of everything since they will probably remove all traces of me being there soon. I cancelled the automated monthly payment to Artsyhome that would otherwise be deducted out of my PayPal account on the 15th. I changed the price of this listing to zero (it sold fro $350) and showed the listing as SOLD, so nobody else would accidentally buy the painting. Now I am waiting to get the money they are still holding.http://www.artsyhome.com/product/SOLD-RESERVED-for-Rebecca-K-Lavend...
All together I had listed probably about 50 art pieces which i immediately removed when I realized how convoluted the whole process with them is. I did not want another sale through there and worry about getting the money for paintings sold.

Hello,
Artsy Home acts as a median between buyers and sellers.
Our terms allow for a 30-day return policy. Artists are paid on the 30th day. Our terms on this are quite clear. The artist above not only understood this, but called our office and demanded to be paid immediately because she knew this buyer. This occurred before the product was shipped, we offered the buyer a complete refund and suggested that the seller deal with the buyer direct if our policy was unacceptable. The seller elected to use our services. We understand that some people can't be pleased no matter what, but we cannot allow these unwarranted comments to go unanswered. The seller was paid 29 days after the order shipped - 1 day short of what our policy calls for.
I never even heard of ArtsyHome before. It looks to me that what etsy is for crafters, artsyhome is for artist. So, you are probably right when you say they reach a different audience. Worth looking into. Thanks Phil for bringing this site to our attention.

I am pleased that I could facilitate this.
