Hi, everyone! I'm in the process of looking at Chicago-land area shows and am wondering if anyone has had experience with the Deerfield Festival of Fine Art, the Art in the Park in Northbrook and the Art in Bloom in Wheaton, IL.... Pros? Cons? Thoughts/suggestions on other good, solid Chicago area shows? Many thanks!!

Well, Carla, that's an interesting one... Originally I was wait-listed but then she told me she had a spot for me. However, haven't heard anything since! So... not sure if I am or not! LOL! I sent Erin another email but we'll see what she says. I kinda need to make some hotel arrangements, etc. if I am!

Read the review in last July's blog for info on Northbrook. The Cantigny show used to be an Amdur show so this is the first year with a new promoter. Deerfield is a nice show, not a great show. Quality is mixed. To find shows, go to AFC above and check out the Illinois shows calendar and then do searches here on AFI to see what was written about past shows. There are a ton of shows in the Chicagoland area. Multiple shows each weekend. Good luck.

Thanks! I had read your blog and wondered if that was the same show... It's hard to decide on doing new shows and so one likes to get as much info as one can from as many places as one can! Didn't know the Cantigny show was an Amdur one... any knowledge of why the change in promoter? Just curious... Thanks for the info on the AFC link (did not know what that was, admittedly!) and I'll check it out! I know there is a lot up in Chicago and have applied to some already, so thanks for all your tips and insight! It's helpful!
