I was wandering around Amy Amdur's website, figuring out my summer schedule. I found this........
The 2010 late deadline to apply online was January 11th. For artists still interested in applying please click HERE to download an application to be mailed to our office.
We currently have openings in the following festivals:
Cantigny Art Festival
North Shore Festival of Art Old Orchard
Downtown Downers Grove Art Festival
Highwood Last Call Art Fair
Well all of those festivals had a Jan 11th deadline too, so unless she didn't get the number of apps she budgeted for, how does she have openings for these festivals? And if all the judging is done, wouldn't she be looking for particular types of media if one area was short (and it certainly wouldn't be jewelry ;-) ) and not all media?
Her shows are good but I still think there are too many of them. I was planning on skipping the North Shore festival and I am just a patron, I need a free weekend myself!

I'd agree, there are a few too many shows. Howard Alan floods his markets, too. But they do know how to put a show together. Very organized and efficient.
I had no problem with her. I found Cantigny delightful to participate in, well organized, extra room all around the booth, easy load in/load out, plenty of artist one on one attention and perks. Can only reference that one experience with Amy from my perspective. My 2009 show report can be viewed via this link

Hi Paul,
How was Art in the Barn on Barrington for you? What medium do you do? What else can you tell me?
