2011 Year End Wrap-Up - Needs Your Help

It's been a great year here at ArtFairInsiders.com:

  • 1121 blog posts
  • 1225 discussions started

  • 6000+ members, (yes the lurkers count, those of you who are at the shows know how many times you have been approached by people who read your musings here)
  • launched Art Fair Radio
  • shared the art fair news, slayed dragons and quelled the nervous

It is time to pass out some awards to those who keep things humming along here. We're looking for nominations in the following categories:

  4. ROFL award

  7. Special Recognition
  8. Best Blog post
  9. Best Discussion

    Tough decision to make but here are my votes:

    1. Member of the year – Geoff Coe
    2. Personality of the year –Nels Johnson
    3. Author of the year – Nels Johnson
    4. ROFL award – Caroline Kwas
    5. Most generous and helpful – Larry Berman/Jim Parker
    6. Newcomer – Michelle Wermuth
    7. Special Recognition – Geri Wegner/Annette Piper

    I just wanted to coment on #5 Most generous and helpful, because I am constantly impressed by how helpfull some of the folks on this forum are. For me it was a tough choice between Larry Berman on all things related to zapp images and such, Jim Parker on all things computer, and Geoff Coe on Florida.  I would nominate Geoff because I think he gives incredible answers to poeples questions.  He tells them the where, the when , the why and the how.  He tells them where to stay, where not to stay and how much of his answer is from is personal experience and how much is what he heard.  Then if that's not enough he tells them to e-mail him if they have any more questions.  I'm impressed. 

     

    As for most of the other awards, you could probably give them to Nels.  He's just that good of a writer.

      Excellent nominations, Del, and your reasoning is impeccable. It surely is a toss up between those people. I have my own ideas also and wonder if those people will be nominated.
