For all of us I give you Israel Kamawiwo'Ole's "Somewhere Over the rainbow." The beauty that flows from his heart and soul captures the essence of this wonderful site that we participate in. Enjoy, that is if I can properly download the link.
Wonderful World was my Dad's song. It was played and sung often the last few months of his life. I never heard this nice version with "Somewhere", it's great. The Louis Armstrong version has also been the exit music for every Tull concert for the last 20 years or so! My dad went to several Tull concerts with me and my brothers. He thought "they have a good beat". The last one we went to we had 3rd row seats right in front of the speakers. He was nearly 80 years young and I had drug him all the way from Atlanta to Knoxville for the show ( we used to live in Knoxville). Right in front of the speakers, he managed to nap for 30 minutes or so in the middle of the show! That man could rest!

Jerry. Your Pop knew a life-enspiring song. It always brings near-tears to my eyes, I don't care who sings it. But Iz was someting special. When he sang it, it went directly to your heart and soul. This was not cotten candy, this was the real thing. Thanks for telling us about your pop. I bet he was real special.
Connie, i hope you are paying attention. This has nothing to do with me or my Hawaii connection. But 34 million-plus people have been touched by this song, sung by IZ. It is the song for our site. Plus the we can start distributing all that Hawaiian pakalolo around the site--make everybody happy. I am only kidding when I say distributing. But you get the gesture--I hope.
I lived in Hawaii when I did my first art fair in 1976. I was lucky to see Iz several times and his voice always moved me, to tears at times. The rainbow is such a special song, and to me provides all the nourishment we need as Road warriors.
Robbie Fulks is a great songwriter you don't hear about. This song is about the music industry, but it could easily translate to the art world. WARNING!!! It is full of F-bombs, for those of you with gentle sensitivities. For me, after a bad show, I crank this song and laugh my watongus off.

Connie, that's a no-brainer:
Get your motor running
Head out on the highway
Looking for adventure
In whatever comes our way
